Society of participants of barricades of 1991<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Society of participants of barricades of 1991 was established in 1995 with the aim of popularizing historical information about the events of January and August 1991 in Latvia. The society organizes commemorative day events, seminars, exhibitions, competitions, conferences, meetings.<\/p>

The society registers the participants of the barricades and presents a Letter of Thanks<\/i> for participating in the defense of Latvia’s independence in January-August 1991.<\/p>

At the initiative of the Society, several laws of the Republic of Latvia have been adopted – including: the Law on the State Award \u201cMemorial Sign of a participant in barricades 1991\u201d<\/b> and the law \u201cOn the Status of a Participant in Barricades 1991\u201d<\/b> and, by law, stipulate that a certificate certifying the status of a participant in barricades shall be issued by Society of participants of barricades of 1991. On March 20, 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia adopted Regulations No. 172 \u201cRegulations on the 1991 Barricade Participant Certificate and the Procedure for Issuing and Registering the Certificate\u201d. 2018.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
